Let's go fishing!The cool, black waters of the Edisto River provide the backdrop for Bamberg's history and charm.  The longest black water river in the world, the Edisto winds through miles of dense hardwood swamps that provide a backdrop of moss draped trees and colorful plants.   Much of the river along the north and south forks remains in its natural state, and anglers can fish for largemouth bass, striped bass, jackfish, pike, warmouth, catfish, bream, and the local favorite, redbreast.  The cold temperature and unpolluted natural environment assures you the freshest, firmest, tastiest fish to be caught anywhere!

Hunting at Broxton Bridge PlantationBroxton Bridge Plantation, located in Ehrhardt, SC, is a hunting preserve offering all types of hunting, fishing, and sporting clay courses.  Sitting on 7,000 acres of land, Broxton Bridge Plantation offers a full range of outdoor services including sporting clays, a pistol and rifle range, wingshooting clinics, continental tower shoots, bass fishing, historic tours of on-site civil war battlegrounds, four Level 1 NSCA Certified Shotgun Instructors, and accommodations for weddings and receptions, business seminars and entertainment.  South Carolina boasts one of the longest hunting seasons in the nation.  Bamberg and surrounding area offers an abundance of wildlife.

Paw Paw Country ClubLooking for a truly challenging round of golf on a well-manicured layout?  Look no further than the championship 18-hole Paw Paw County Club in Bamberg.  Site of the annual Old Friends Invitational, Paw Paw is open to the public complete with a pro shop and banquet facilities.  Paw Paw Golf Course, designed by one of South Carolina's best known architects, Russell Breeden, has abundant lakes and woods, large undulating greens, contoured fairways and hybrid grasses kept lush by a full irrigation system.  It provides a challenge for the avid golfer as well as fun for the novice.

The Old Friends Invitational Golf Classic has been held annually since 1983 at Paw Paw Country Club.  This tournament was initiated to raise funds for a four-year academic scholarship for a deserving Bamberg-Ehrhardt graduate.  This worthy cause attracts a number of sports figures and entertainment celebrities to Bamberg.

Fourth of July CelebrationBamberg hosts a spectacular Fourth of July Celebration featuring a fireworks extravaganza. " We come together in order to promote Americanism, enrich community life through leisure activities and to provide fun for the family.  Come join us!


Rivers BridgeRivers Bridge State Park
Seven miles southwest of Ehrhardt, SC, the only state park to commemorate the Confederacy.   Battle Breastworks are still intact at this spot where a small band of Confederate troops tried to hold off Sherman's inevitable march.  The park also includes a Confederate relics museum and monuments, overnight accommodations, nature trails, fishing, boating, picnic shelters and meeting facilities.
